Marco Bianchi, born in Milan, studied violin at the Scuola Civica di Milano with Adele Riva Toffeletti earning his diploma at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in 1987. He continued his studies with Renato Zanettovich and the Trio di Trieste as well as Marianna Sirbu. He won prizes and recognition in both national and international competitions. Since 1989 he has been a principal player and soloist in the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, with which he has performed in Europe's most important theaters and concert halls as well as those of the U.S., Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, South America, New Zealand and Australia. With this important group he has worked worldwide in both radio and television, and has recorded for the Teldec, Decca and Naive labels. He performs as well with other ensembles and orchestras as both concertmaster and soloist. He has recorded for Nuova Era, Amadeus, Tactus, Dynamic, Stradivarius, Arts, Winter&Winter and Claves. He plays an 18th century violin made by Giacomo Zanoli belonging to Adele Riva Toffeletti and owns a Francois Coussin made in 1852.
